Mrs. Elisa Sedlacek

Hello!! My name is Elisa Sedlacek. I’m originally from Southern California. I graduated from CSUN with a BA in Deaf Studies. I became an Adult Education Instructor for 5 years then taught ASL 1 and 2 classes at Chaffey College in California for 5 years.

When I’m not teaching, I spend time with my family and our service dog Rosie. I taught her sign language and she understands ASL very well. In my quiet time, I love doing crafts and making jewelry.

My job as an ASL teacher is to create an atmosphere that fosters learning. I am an instructor because I have a passion for guiding students through the learning process. I encourage learning by creating a relaxed environment for students, stimulating conversation in ASL.

I believe that respect for my students is one of the most important things I can show, not only to encourage their openness to the material I am presenting, but also to inspire them to respect each other.
